Memphis,TN : Man charged with battery after traffic crash on August, Sunday 13th 2017

A Tennessee man was arrested Sunday and charged with battery after police say he punched a man he was in a traffic accident with.

Justin R. Moody, 28, of La Vergne, Tennessee, was in a traffic accident with a man who is at least 65 years old, according to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report. After the crash, Moody went to the man’s car and began yelling at him.

As the man tried to get out of his car, Moody continued to push the door closed, at one point denting it.

When Moody moved away from the man’s car, the man exited and walked toward Moody. Moody continued to yell at the man, who told Moody to get away from him.

The man pushed Moody, and Moody then punched the man in the face, according to police. Moody accidentally stepped on the man’s foot, causing the man to trip and fall. Moody tried to punch him again but failed.

Moody told police that “anybody that puts their hands on me” will get beat, according to the arrest report.

Moody was charged with battery on a person 65 years or older. He was held in the Alachua County jail.
