Iowa City, IA: Interstate 380 reopens after chase suspect hits squad car on Monday, July 20th 2015
Interstate 380 is now reopened to traffic this morning after a crash involving police cars this morning.The Iowa State Patrol says two different officer vehicles were hit during a chase in Johnson County.The officers were not hurt. The suspect has been taken into custody. Police chasing a suspect are hit by the suspect.According to the Iowa State Patrol, two different officer vehicles were hit during a chase in Johnson County.The chase happened on Highway 218 and continued north onto Interstate 380.Troopers say the suspect hit an Iowa City police officer on Highway 218 at mile marker 94.The chase continued and troopers say the suspect crashed into a North Liberty officer's squad car around mile marker 4 in I-380. According to troopers, the officer was not in the car at the time.The Iowa State Patrol says no officers were hurt and the suspect was taken into custody.Northbound I-380 in Johnson County is closed while the crash investigation continues.
