Agoura Hills, CA : A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car at Eastbound 101 Freeway On Wednesday, May 18th, 2016
A motorcyclist was seriously injured Wednesday night in a collision with a car on the eastbound 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills.
The crash took place about 10:50 p.m. near the Kanan Road off-ramp, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball.
“The rider was down on the freeway in the slow lane,” Kimball said. “The driver who hit the motorcyclist pulled off the freeway at Kanan Road and (was) waiting for responding CHP officers.”
The driver was cooperating with CHP officers, Kimball said.
The motorcyclist’s gender and age were not immediately known.
All eastbound lanes were shut down at Kanan Road, along with the Kanan Road off-ramp, to allow a fire department helicopter to land on the freeway and take the motorcyclist to a hospital.
The helicopter, which was supposed to land about 11:20 p.m., was canceled at the last minute and the patient was taken to a trauma center by ground ambulance, according to the CHP.
A SigAlert was declared by the CHP at 10:21 p.m. It was cancelled at 11:22 p.m. and all lanes were reopened.
The crash remained under investigation.
