Clermont County, OH : Clermont County Commissioner injured in serious motor vehicle accident on Thursday December 3 2015

Clermont County Commissioner Ed Humphrey is in stable condition in the hospital after he was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on Thursday, officials said.
The family deeply appreciates the first-responders who cared for Ed at the scene of the accident, and the medical team who continues to provide care for him," Humphrey's family said in a statement Friday. "We are humbled and very grateful for all of the prayers and well wishes we have received from the many people Ed has touched through his many years of continued service to Clermont County."
The crash occurred at 1:12 p.m. Thursday. Humphrey was driving northbound on Ohio 126 near Beech Road in Miami Township when a semi hauling a dumpster became detached from a semi traveling southbound, according to the Batavia Post of the Ohio Highway Safety Patrol. The dumpster leaned to the side striking and spilling the construction debris it contained onto Humphrey's passing 2005 Lincoln Towncar.
The semi was being driven by Danny Wilson, 46, of Loveland.
Humphrey sustained multiple injuries during the crash. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center via medical helicopter for treatment.
Humphrey was elected to the commission in 2008 and now serves as president of the board. Before that he served as a Miami Township Trustee for 19 years.
According to his commissioner biography, Humphrey retired from Procter & Gamble and holds a masters of business administration degree from the University of Cincinnati.
