Las Cruces,NM : Vehicle crashes into tree in front of Las Cruces Police Department building on December, Thursday 7th 2017

A vehicle came within several feet of crashing into the Las Cruces Police Department on Thursday afternoon after the person behind the wheel had a medical episode.

Shortly after noon Thursday, a vehicle was heading north on Campo Street when the driver had a "medical problem," according to LCPD spokesman Dan Trujillo.

The vehicle subsequently drove through the intersection at East Picacho Avenue, struck a flashing street sign and went over the curb, landing in the landscaped area around LCPD and hitting a tree not far from the building.
