Tallahassee, FL : A Michigan man died in a crash on Monday, December, 11th 2017

The Florida Highway Patrol identified a Michigan man who died in a crash with a truck Monday afternoon in south Lee County.

David Joseph Fons, 63, of Brighton, Michigan, was killed.

Fons was driving a Nissan Versa east on Alico Road, approaching Gator Road in the left turn lane, according to an FHP release.

Raydel Gray Gonzalez, of Lehigh Acres, was driving a Volvo semitrailer west on Alico Road, approaching Gator Road in the inside lane.

Both vehicles were approaching a red light, according to FHP.

Fons turned left into the intersection at the same time Gonzalez continued driving west on Alico Road, according to FHP. The front right of Fons' car struck the front of Gonzalez's truck.
