Calhoun, AL : One killed, one injured in wreck on Evergreen Lane in Cedartown on Thursday, December 8th, 2016
A Cedartown woman was killed and the driver injured in a one car wreck at the intersection of Evergreen Lane and Cave Spring Road this afternoon, according to Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier.
He said that he pronounced Mildred Chapman, 81, of a Cedartown address, dead at the scene around 3 p.m. this afternoon following the wreck.
Brazier said that Chapman and the driver, whose name has not yet been released, crashed into a large oak tree in the northbound shoulder opposite of Evergreen Lane. He did not yet have any information on a cause for the crash.
He said the driver was pulled from the car and transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome via Redmond Emergency Medical Services. He said her condition was serious, but had no more information than that.
