Sheboygan, WI : Sheboygan deputy injured in crash on Highway 23 on Wednesday, October 27, 2016
A Sheboygan County deputy received minor injuries when his squad was rear-ended on Highway 23 on Wednesday.
The deputy's squad car was struck at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Highway 23 as it waited to make a left turn onto Sugarbush Road near Greenbush. A second car was also waiting to turn ahead of the deputy, but the driver of that vehicle was uninjured in the crash.
A vehicle driven by Sabrina J. Roehrborn, 20, of Glenbeulah, attempted to drive onto the shoulder to navigate around the two vehicles waiting to turn, but struck the rear of the squad car, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
The deputy was transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Roehrborn was cited for operating too fast for conditions, operating without insurance and non-registration of auto, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
The resulting traffic backup due to the first accident caused a second accident on eastbound Highway 23 when a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Adell woman was rear-ended at 4:17 p.m. as it slowed for the traffic The driver of the car that struck her vehicle, Robert Pauly, 24, of St. Cloud, was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed. The Adell woman was transported from the scene with possible injuries. Pauly was treated at the scene but declined transport to the hospital.
