Plymouth, IN : Two people dead after car rear-ended in Marshall County on Sunday, May 15, 2016
Two people have died after an SUV rear-ended a 1997 Honda Civic on Sunday.
And the two people in the SUV, a 1999 Dodge Durango, fled the scene: Shane Graham, 25, and Monica Sanders, 27, of Elkhart, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department reported. Police have contacted and plan to interview them, Lt. Duane Culp said.
The Civic’s driver, Paul Graham, 24, of Plymouth, and a 17-year-old in the car, Jostiana Bouskill, died Sunday at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, the sheriff's department reported.
Culp said the drivers of both vehicles, Shane and Paul Graham, are brothers.
The Civic also had two other passengers, both 17: Jacob Kuskye, who went to Memorial Hospital with critical injuries, and Abri Mejia, who wore a seatbelt and didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday as both vehicles were traveling north on Rose Road. The driver of the Civic braked for the intersection of Plymouth-LaPorte Trail, the Durango rear-ended the Civic, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
Speed, alcohol and drugs are believed to be factors in the crash, police said.
Police ask that anyone with information about the accident to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
