CLAY CENTER, KS : 2 killed, 3 seriously injured in head-on crash Saturday in Clay County on Saturday, 12th October 2024
Two people were killed and three others were seriously injured in a head-on crash Saturday afternoon in Clay County, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 3:55 p.m. Saturday on US-24 highway about 7 miles west of Clay Center.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup truck was eastbound on US-24 when it crossed over the center line for an unknown reason and collided head-on with a westbound 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan.
After the collision, the Ford pickup truck came to rest facing north in the north ditch, while the Toyota came to a stop on its passenger side facing west in the south ditch.
