Eugene, OR : Coburg man dies after crashing motorcycle on I-5 offramp Friday night, October 21, 2016
A single-vehicle collision at the Coburg exit off Interstate 5 northbound Friday night left a Coburg man dead, Oregon State Police said Saturday morning.
Based on OSP’s preliminary investigation, OSP Capt. Bill Fugate said a 2006 Harley Davidson was traveling northbound on I-5 when it took Exit 199.
The motorcyclist lost control and crashed on the offramp around 10:45 p.m. Friday.
A passerby pulled the motorcyclist off the road and administered first aid, Fugate said. An OSP trooper, who was at a nearby gas station, quickly arrived and took over the care of the rider.
The motorcyclist, Michael Ketts, 68, of Coburg, was taken to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
