Nevada City, CA : Driver injured after collision on Highway 49 at North Bloomfield Road on Wednesday morning, Sep 23, 2015

A driver sustained minor injuries in a Wednesday morning collision that occurred after she reportedly ran a red light on Highway 49 at North Bloomfield Road.

Thirty-six-year-old Lily Gicker of Nevada City was traveling southbound on Highway 49 at around 7:40 a.m. when she drove through the intersection at North Bloomfield Road against the red light and collided with another driver in a pickup truck, said CHP Public Information Officer Greg Tassone.

Gicker’s Subaru Outback overturned as a result of the collision; an ambulance transported Gicker to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, where she was evaluated and treated for minor injuries, including cuts to her hands, Tassone said.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, though the accident did damage the front end of the truck.

Neither car involved in the collision was carrying passengers at the time of the accident, Tassone said.
