Nampa, ID : One dies in crash near Caldwell on Sunday, 25th September 2016
The Canyon County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal, three-vehicle crash that happened Sunday morning on Homedale Road near Caldwell.
No names were released as of Sunday afternoon, but the sheriff's office confirmed one death among the five people transported to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.
According to the initital investigation by deputies, van following two farm tractors travelling eastbound on Homedale Road near Beet Road attempted to pass both tractors. The driver of the van struck the first tractor and was ejected in the collision. The van's momentum sent it into the back of the second tractor, which overturned. The driver of that tractor was also ejected from the vehicle.
The van and both tractors both came to a stop on the roadway, blocking traffic for several hours.
The families of the five people treated at the hospital are being notified before names are released.
The sheriff's office continues to investigate the crash.
