A driver was arrested after smashing into a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police cruiser early Wednesday morning.
CMPD says officers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling the wrong way on College Street around 12:30 a.m. After the suspect fled, officers say they found his vehicle in the 1st Ward Apartment complex.
"The suspect again tried to flee and struck the officer’s vehicle," CMPD says.
The officer and driver were both uninjured.
Police say a passenger in the car fled the scene. The driver was arrested.
