Lowhill township ,PA : Two Drivers critically injured in crash during storm on Thursday afternoon ,July 30th 2015
Two people were critically injured in a crash Thursday afternoon on Route 100 in Lowhill Township as storms moved across Lehigh County, Pennsylvania State Police report.
A northbound 2004 Ford F150 driven by Christine R. Karom, 83, of Orefield, left its lane attempting to round a curve south of Beechwood Street and crashed into the side of a southbound 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Todd G. Fatzinger, 50, of Walnutport, police said.
Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, police said. Both were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, police said. They were both in critical condition on Friday morning, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Karom will be cited with leaving her lane, police said.
Upper Macungie Township police and fire personnel and Cetronia Ambulance Corps assisted at the scene, police said. Both vehicles were towed.
