Suffield, CT : Driver injured after crash in Suffield early Thursday morning, May 5, 2016
A man suffered significant injuries early Thursday morning when his car slid off Hickory Street and crashed into a utility pole, a police official said.
The man was breathing but was unresponsive when police arrived on the scene, Lt. Ryan Burrell said Thursday. The man had to be extricated from the car by the Fire Department,
The man was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Hickory Street was closed following the accident, which occurred around 2:10 a.m. and was called in by a passing motorist, Burrell said.
The man was driving eastbound when he lost control of his car and it struck the utility pole on the driver’s side, he said.
Police have not yet determined the cause of the accident, he added.
