Dothan, AL : A one-vehicle crash in Jackson County on Saturday, December, 16th 2017

A teenager from Grand Ridge, Fla., died Saturday in a one-vehicle crash in Jackson County.

Ashleigh Breanna Varn, 19, was driving eastbound on Butler Road near County Road 271 about 3:05 p.m. when the 2008 Nissan Altima traveled into the ditch on the south side of the roadway, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

She steered the vehicle back to the left onto the roadway and overcorrected back to the right. The vehicle began to rotate clockwise traveling into the ditch on the north side of the roadway and began to overturn.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest on its right side facing east on the north side of the roadway.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County EMS and Fire Rescue.
