Boise resident Adrian Shaw, 34, of Boise, died due to blunt force trauma after the car he was riding in crashed into a tree in Garden City early Friday, the Ada County Coroner reports
Garden City police responded to a report of a Mazda SUV crashing into a tree on Riverside Drive and Lakefront around 1:30 a.m., police said. Shaw was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later, police
said.’, according to GCPD.
The driver had serious injuries, police said, but his name and condition were not available Friday night. The back seat passenger suffered injuries described as not life-threatening.
Police said alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the fatal crash. The Ada County Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident with GCPD, and no charges were initially reported.
“This is a sad reminder that if you have been consuming alcohol, don't drive,” Lt. Tom Patterson said in a news release. “ Once you begin drinking your judgement is impaired, and you may make a horrible decision which
could result in injury or death to yourself or others.”
