Sacramento, CA : Pair of two-vehicle crashes reported early Tuesday in south part of Topeka on Tuesday, August 29, 2017
Topeka police and emergency responders were on scene of two crashes that occurred minutes apart Tuesday morning in the southern part of the capital city.
One crash, reported at 7:52 a.m., occurred at S.W. 42nd and Topeka Boulevard and involved a van and a car.
Police at the scene weren’t able to provide many details about the crash, but it appeared a maroon Nissan car had rear-ended a white Dodge minivan.
The Nissan had extensive front-end damage, while the Dodge minivan was damaged on its back end. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.Both vehicles came to rest facing north just south of S.W. 42nd on Topeka Boulevard. The Nissan was in the northbound lane while the minivan had crossed a concrete median and ended up in the southbound lanes of traffic.
It wasn’t immediately known if anyone in the vehicles was transported to the hospital by ambulance, though police did say only minor injuries resulted from the collision.
The second crash was reported at 7:55 a.m. at S.E. 28th and California.
Police at the scene said a maroon Ford pickup truck was traveling north on California when a blue Ford Mustang, traveling east, pulled out in front of it.
The vehicles collided and ended up in the southbound lanes of traffic. No injuries were reported.
Southbound California at S.E. 27th was blocked for a time during the investigation.
California is a north-south through-street at the intersection, while S.E. 28th is an east-west street controlled by stop signs.
