MADISON COUNTY, AL : 2 dead in Madison County wreck on Balch Road north of US-72 on Wednesday, 29th May 2019

Alabama State Police say a woman from Harvest and a child were killed in a crash that happened on Balch Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Alabama State Troopers say Linda M. Bippen, was driving on Balch Road north of US-72 when she collided head-on with a pickup truck. Both vehicles flipped and ended up in the ditch.

"When they said it was a white vehicle, my mind immediately went to my sister," neighbor Ruby Moore said.

"Look how narrow this street is. And we already have problems coming out from Balch, coming from Moore, coming from Carter," neighbor Diann Binford said.

Troopers say Bippen, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. A six-year-old child passenger in her car also died in the crash. On Monday evening, Madison County coroner Tyler Berryhill said the two victims are related.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 52-year-old man from Hoover, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
