Two teenagers, reportedly local high school students, died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Southport Boulevard and Admiral Doyle Drive, according to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
IPSO spokesman Maj. Ryan Turner said in a prepared statement that IPSO deputies responded at 7:11 a.m. to the crash. Turner said an 18-year-old driver did not yield at a stop sign on Southport Boulevard. A 16-year-old passenger was also in the
vehicle.
The vehicle was struck by an SUV heading east on Admiral Doyle Drive, the IPSO spokesman said. Both teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Turner.
