Indiana County, PA : Infant suffers head injuries in Indiana County crash on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014
A 1-year-old boy was airlifted to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh for head injuries sustained in a two-car crash on Route 422 in Indiana County Wednesday evening.
According to state police, the crash occurred at about 7:45 p.m. in Armstrong when James E. Farabajgh, 36, of Northern Cambria was westbound and failed to stop for or avoid a car that was stopped while preparing to take a left turn.
Farabajgh rear-ended the stopped car, according to the police report, which was being driven by Steven Marsh, 26, of Indiana. The baby was a passenger in Marsh's car, as was Robert L. Gibbons, 24, of Indiana.
Marsh and Gibbons were not injured. Farabajgh was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center in White for minor injuries. The baby was transported by Lifeflight with injuries described as “moderate.” The boy's condition was not known late Wednesday.
