Little Rock, AR : Fiery crash on I-40 kills woman, shuts highway for more than 2 hours on Tuesday, September 19th 2017
A crash on Interstate 40 in Lonoke County killed a Kentucky woman early Tuesday.
Just before 3 a.m., a 2017 Ford traveling west on I-40 rear-ended another vehicle, then skidded and caught on fire, according to a preliminary crash report.
The Ford's driver, Taylor Renfrow, 28, of Cadiz, Ky., was injured and transported to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. A passenger, Caroline Renfrow, 31, also of Cadiz, died at the scene.
The crash took place near the Remington Arms Co. It shut down the westbound lanes of I-40 for more than two hours.
Conditions at the time of the wreck were clear and dry, according to the report.
According to preliminary state police data, at least 348 people have died on Arkansas roads this year.
