A police chase of a motor home ended in a fiery crash that killed a driver early Wednesday on Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County, police said.
About 12:44 a.m., Kentucky State Police troopers began pursuing the motor home that intentionally ran through barriers and construction barrels on Ky. 21 and drove onto I-75 in Berea, according to state police.
The driver, 67-year-old John McCoy, of Chesapeake, Ohio, refused to stop and continued traveling south toward an I-75 construction site where workers were setting bridge beams for a reconstruction project, police said. All construction workers were immediately notified to evacuate, according to state police.
