Three people were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson County.
The crash involved two vehicles, a white Jeep Grand Cherokee and a red Pontiac.
Kansas Highway Patrol says Jessica Harvey, 41, of Topeka was driving the Pontiac east on Highway 24 when she crossed over the center line. She hit Caitlyn Midyett, 26, of Topeka, who was driving her Jeep in the opposite direction.
Harvey and Midyett were both transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center by helicopter. Their injuries were critical.
A 4-year-old passenger in the Jeep was transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka. His injuries are unknown at this time.
U.S. Highway 24 was shut down in both directions from Thompsonville Rd. to Ferguson Rd. That stretch is back open now.
The crash is near the scene where four people, including an infant were killed in a crash in June 2016.
