3 dead in car accident near Winder Georgia

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Barrow County that resulted in three fatalities.

The crash occurred around 11:50 p.m. on Georgia Highway 82, one-tenth of a mile west of Holsenbeck School Road.

Killed in the crash were David Michael Varnum, John Willis Collins, and Wanda Jean Collins all from Winder, GA.

Police say a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro being driven by Varnum was eastbound on Georgia 82 when the driver crossed the centerline and struck the Collins' 2001 Ford Taurus head-on.

There were no other injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this accident.
