Gainesville, FL : A crash in Levy County on Tuesday, 27th March 2018
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash Tuesday afternoon in Levy County that killed two men and seriously injured two others.
The accident occurred at about 5:28 p.m. at the intersection of Alt U.S. 27 and State Road 24, according to an FHP media release. A 1997 Ford F-350 was traveling south on Alt U.S. 27 when it went onto a shoulder of the road and hit a concrete utility pole and the awning support for McKenzie’s 4 Corners Package and Lounge.
The driver, a 76-year-old Orlando man, and a backseat passenger, a 60-year-old man also from Orlando, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP. Their names were not immediately released, pending notification of their family members.
Two other Orlando men — Isny Petit-Homme, 56, and Frandieu Guillaume, 56 — were taken to UF Health Shands Hospital with serious injuries.
