Jefferson County, MO : Man killed and women injured in head-on crash in Jefferson County on Highway 30 Tuesday morning, Novemeber 4, 2014

A Lonedell man was killed and a Dittmer woman seriously injured in a head-on crash on Highway 30 in Jefferson County Tuesday morning. The Missouri Highway Patrol said Mary L. Fietek, 33, of Dittmer, was headed west on Highway 30 east of Ridge Road when her 2005 Chevrolet Impala crossed the center line about 11:20 a.m. The Impala struck an eastbound 1989 Ford Ranger driven by Walter H. Summers, 65, of Lonedell. Fietek and Summers were both taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center, where Summers was pronounced dead about an hour after the crash. Fietek's injuries were described as serious. The Highway Patrol said she had been driving too fast for conditions when she crossed the center line.
