CHICO, CA : Man restrained after single-car crash at the 1300 block of West Sacramento Avenue on Friday, 24th April, 2020

A man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries early Friday morning after a single-car crash at the 1300 block of West Sacramento Avenue in Chico.

Harrison Kelsey, 24, of Chico was driving a silver sedan that ended up stuck between a fence and a utility pole, said a press release issued Friday by the Chico Police Department.According to the release, Kelsey was injured and unable to get himself out of the vehicle. Officers had to restrain him in a full-body device after he was uncooperative with medical personnel. The release said the restraint device was used to get Kelsey to the hospital safely.

An investigation is underway as to the nature of the crash. Kelsey was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the Chico Police Department’s web portal. His bail was set at $12,500.


Kelsey was the only one in the car at the time of the crash, the release said.
