Blair,NE : 1 injured in N-133 accident on June, Wednesday 7th 2017

One person was transported in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of state Highway 133 and County Road P38 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Preliminary investigations by the Washington County Sheriff's Office suggest that the first vehicle, a silver Ford Fusion, stopped the stop sign at CR P38 before attempting to cross onto Highway 133. The second vehicle, a northbound black Kia, then struck the first vehicle.

"It sounds like failure to yield," Capt. Shawn Thallas said at the scene. "They must not have seen the northbound vehicle and you can see the result there."

Seat belts appeared to be used in both vehicles. There was no intitial indication of drug or alcohol use. The names of the parties involved have not yet been released.

The Ford was occupied solely by the driver. The Kia held two passengers. All three occupants of the Kia were examined and released on-site. The driver of the Ford was transported to the hospital — reportedly alert, conscious and breathing, though further details of the driver's condition are unknown at this time.

Kennard and Fort Calhoun volunteer fire departments also responded to the call.
