Western Michigan authorities say a woman was drunk when she drove her SUV east on westbound Interstate 96, hitting a man's car head on and killing him.
State police tell The Grand Rapids Press and WOOD-TV that the crash happened about 3 a.m. Sunday. They say the man's car was engulfed in flames, while the woman was pulled alive from her burning vehicle.
State police say the woman was being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Mercy Health Saint Mary's hospital. Her name and that of the dead man weren't immediately released.
The crash happened in Grand Rapids Township, just east of Grand Rapids.
