Salt Lake City ,UT : 20- Months old Toddler girl killed after grandfather accidently hits her at Kearns driveway on Friday morning ,April 10 2015

A toddler is dead after she was hit by a car in her driveway in a Salt Lake City suburb.

Police say the 20-month-old girl's grandfather accidently struck her while backing up his truck in Kearns Friday morning.

Unified Police of Salt Lake County say the man didn't realize his granddaughter had followed him when he went outside to move the truck so he could take out the trash cans.

Lt. Justin Hoyal says the man rushed the child identified as Kendra Moad to the hospital, where she died of her injuries.
