Man killed after crashing motorcycle on the Great River Road

A man died Saturday night after crashing his motorcycle.According to the Madison County Coroner's Office, Nathan Allen, 30, of St. Clair, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the crash scene on Great River Road, about 2 miles east of Iroquois Trail in Godfrey, Illinois.Authorities said it appeared Allen was traveling eastbound when he struck his 2011 Harley Davidson on the guardrail. He was ejected from his bike.911 was notified of the crash at 7:06 p.m. and Allen was pronounced deceased at 8:10 p.m. by a Madison County Coroner's Supervisory Investigator.Allen was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries. Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the accident and are performing routine alcohol and drug testing.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, Missouri.
