Victoria,TX : Four-vehicle wreck sends 2 to hospital on July, Friday 28th 2017
Two men were sent to a Victoria hospital after a four-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on a highway overpass just south of Victoria's boundary.
A southbound 2010 Ford pickup and two other trucks had stopped about 5 p.m. on the U.S. 77 overpass above U.S. 59 Business for a crew that was striping the road, said Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, of the Department of Public Safety.
At that time, a 1990 GMC pickup failed to control speed and caused a chain-reaction crash, San Miguel said.
He said the GMC pickup driven by John Odis Henry, 19, of Yorktown, rear- ended a 2012 Dodge pickup driven by Jose Rosario Fregoso, 24, of Fort Worth.
Fregoso reared-ended a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Abe McCoy, 79, of Victoria, which caused him to rear-end the 2010 Ford pickup driven by Austin James Adams, 24, of New Braunfels, San Miguel said.
Fregoso had a passenger, Cruz Fregoso, 21, of Fort Worth, and a rear seat passenger, Jose Gonzalez, 23, of Fort Worth.
Gonzalez and McCoy were sent to DeTar Hospital Navarro with nonlife threatening injuries, San Miguel said.
He said Henry was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
