Nine people were taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon after a 24-Divisadero Muni bus slammed head-on into a delivery truck in the Castro neighborhood at rush hour.
None of the injuries was life threatening, according to John Baxter, spokesman for the San Francisco Fire Department.
The Muni bus was headed north on Castro Street at Beaver Street at 5:20 p.m. when it collided with the southbound Guayaki Yerba Mate truck. The collision shattered the driver side window of the electrified bus. Both drivers were injured, along with seven bus passengers.
Castro was closed in both directions at Beaver for about three hours.
The cause of the accident was being looked into and officials declined to speculate on which driver was at fault.
