Liberty Township, OH : Jogger killed after being struck by a vehicle in Butler County on Tuesday evening, June 7, 2016

A jogger was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Liberty Township Tuesday evening.

At 6 p.m., the female jogger stepped into the crosswalk at Milikin Road and Lesourdsville-West Chester Road and was struck by a vehicle, The Butler County Sheriff's Office stated in a news release.

Deputies with the Butler County Sheriff's Office and the Liberty Township Fire Department responded and pronounced the jogger, who was not identified pending notification to family, deceased at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene after the crash and the cause of the investigation is still under investigation.
