Brooklyn, NY : 54-year-old bicyclist struck and killed by a truck in Brooklyn on Tuesday, January 19, 2016

New York City police are investigating the death of a bicyclist who was struck by a truck that left the scene.

Police say it happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday in Brooklyn.

They say a truck heading west on Avenue U struck the 54-year-old bicyclist who was riding alongside the truck in the same direction.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests.
