Sarasota, FL :Hit-and-run driver victimizes 72-year-old Sarasota man on Wednesday, July 15th 2015

A 2007 Mercury Monterey driven by a 72-year-old Sarasota man was struck by a hit-and-run driver at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.No injuries were reported by the driver or his 71-year-old male Sarasota passenger.The suspect's maroon Dodge Ram truck with an 8-foot bed was southbound on Honore Avenue approaching Bahia Vista Street and the victim was stopped at a red light when the truck collided with the rear of the victim's vehicle.The truck fled and was last seen traveling west on Bahia Vista Street. The driver was a Hispanic male, heavyset with dark short hair, according to FHP.
