Authorities say a moped operator has died after a hit-and-run accident in Vance County.
Officials tell that 52-year-old Christopher Leon Terry of Henderson was going south on Friday morning when he collided with a GMC SUV headed in the other direction.
Terry was thrown from his moped.
Authorities said the driver of the SUV, 40-year-old Celso Hernandez Ramirez, 40, of Henderson, fled the scene. Officials arrested him on Saturday and charged him with felony hit and run, felony death by motor vehicle, driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license.
Ramirez was being held at the Vance County jail under a $75,000 secured bond. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
