Palm Harbor, FL : Tampa man dies in Palm Harbor motorcycle crash on Tuesday evening, July 8, 2014
A motorcyclist from Tampa was killed in a crash in Palm Harbor on Tuesday evening.
The crash occurred about 6:44 p.m. at the intersection of Omaha Street and Countryshire Lane as Robert Charles Vath, 24, was driving a motorcycle south on Omaha, Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported.
A car driven by Ronald D. Hunter, 74, of Dunedin, crossed Omaha and pulled in front of Vath, who was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact, troopers said.
Vath, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he died.
Hunter was not injured. His passenger, Jerri M. Hunter, 73, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash was under investigation late Tuesday night.
