Daytona Beach, FL : No one killed in single-vehicle motorcycle crash Interstate 4 on Saturday October 17 2015

Crashes clogged up Interstate 4 in east Volusia County Saturday. No one was killed, but the crashes made a mess oftraffic, from mile marker 124, west of the off-ramp onto U.S. 92 west of Daytona Beach, all the way to the I-4/I-95 interchange.
The first crash happened at 10:24 a.m. Troopers say there was a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on eastbound I-4, about a mile before the I-95 interchange. The motorcyclist is in stable condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The crash delayed traffic for several miles. A second crash happened at mile marker 125 involving three vehicles. Troopers say no one suffered any life-threatening injuries.
That was followed by two minor crashes near the second crash.
Compounding the issue, numerous vehicles became disabled from overheating or running out of gas.
Florida Highway Patrol said they also received numerous reports of reckless motorcyclists throughout the morning. There were also motorcycles and other vehicles driving up the shoulder and cutting the median to get past the traffic backups.
Extra troopers are being stationed in the Daytona Beach area this weekend because of Biketoberfest, and the increased concern about motorcycle crashes. Troopers say there have been 138 crashes involving motorcycles in the last 3 years of Biketoberfest.
