WILLIAMSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH : Man rescued from crash two days later on Monday, 31st October 2016
A Clermont County man is recovering at the hospital after being rescued from a single-car crash two days after it happened, the Ohio Department of Transportation said Monday.
Officials said Kory Chambers, 38, was operating a 2010 Mazda 3 southbound on Ohio 133 in Williamsburg Township Saturday when he failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The car then struck a tree, overturned into a ditch and came to rest on its driver's side.
The wreck was discovered by ODOT workers Ryan Ninichuck and Jeff Armstrong. The workers were removing a deer from the side of the road when they spotted the crashed car.
"It was just pure luck that we had even went down there," said Armstrong, at a press conference Monday.
The vehicle was concealed in an area not easily seen from the roadway, ODOT said.
Ninichuck said Chambers was dehydrated and bruised when they discovered him.
Chambers was taken by medical helicopter to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where is in stable condition, according to ODOT.
Lt. Wayne Price said that Ohio 133 is a well-traveled roadway.
