Punta Gorda, FL : One injured after hit by a box truck on State Road 29 on Tuesday morning, Nov 24, 2015

A man mowing a median on State Road 29 was hospitalized Tuesday morning after he crossed into the road and was hit by a box truck.

The man was taken to NCH North Naples Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to spokesman Armando Negrin of the Immokalee Fire Control District.

The collision caused a fuel leak of about 15 to 20 gallons, causing the roadway to be shut down between Interstate 75 and Oil Well Road for several hours. As of 3:30 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol was reporting that all lanes of State Road 29 had reopened.
