Seneca County, OH : Two men are killed in fiery roll over accident in Seneca County on Friday night, November 7, 2014
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating crash that occurred on SR 228 near TR 178 in Adams Township.
The accident occurred at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, November 7.
Troopers say 31-year-old Christopher I. Meyer, of Republic, Ohio, and his passenger, 26-year-old Antony B. Ryon, of Tiffin, Ohio, were killed in a one car accident after Meyer failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway while traveling northbound on SR 228.
Meyer, who was driving a silver 2006 Hyndai Sonata, lost control of the vehicle which ran off the road, struck a stop sign and overturned mutiple times while striking several trees in the process. Officers say the car then became fully engulfed in flames.
According to investigators, Meyer was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seat belt. Ryon was wearing a seat belt, but was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The pair were transported to the Tiffin Morgue by the Seneca County Coroner's Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
