Sarasota County , FL :Martin Edward Rudis, 24 critically injured after he struck by car on early Monday morning ,September 7th 2015

A bicyclist was critically injured early Monday morning after was struck by a car.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol:

At 1:40 a.m., Martin Edward Rudis, 24, of Nokomis was riding his bicycle south on Orange Grove Avenue approaching the intersection with Edmondson Road in South Sarasota County.

Rudis failed to stop for a stop sign and rode his bike into the path of an ambulance driven by Mark Augustus Quimby, 47, of Venice.

Rudis suffered critical injuries and was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital..

Neither Quimby or a passenger, David William Davis, 42, of St. Petersburg were injured.
