AUSTIN, TX : Driver arrested after deadly hit-and-run in Downtown Austin on Wednesday, 13th March 2024

A driver has been arrested in connection to a deadly hit-and-run in Downtown Austin.

Tyrone Thompson, 23, was arrested following a crash that left one person dead and another person hurt early morning at East Seventh and Red River streets.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), Thompson was arrested on unrelated charges following another Tuesday morning crash in Travis County.
