Wichita, KS : 8-year-old girl injured in collision involving hit-and-run driver at Funston and Ida in Wichita on Thursday, April 7, 2016

A child has suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run crash in south Wichita.

The accident was reported around 4:15 p.m. Thursday near Funston and Ida. Police said the driver of a silver passenger car hit a red vehicle, causing it to roll onto its side, and then ran from the scene.

A 8-year-old girl in the backseat of the red car suffered minor injuries. Those injuries were originally thought to be more serious.

The teen driver of the red car was not hurt.

Police are still searching for the driver of the silver car and said they know who they're looking for.
