Staten Island, NY : Driver sought after deadly crash on Staten Island on Monday, 11th March 2024
A deadly crash is under investigation Tuesday on Staten Island.
Police are searching for the driver, who sources say took off on foot after removing his license plates.
The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. Monday on Goethals Road North in the Graniteville neighborhood.
Police said the driver was speeding when he lost control and slammed into a fire hydrant and light pole. The front of the vehicle was completely smashed, along with a nearby fence.
A 26-year-old man was ejected from the backseat and died of severe trauma on the scene. A 23-year-old man in the front seat was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
