BURNETT COUNTY, WI : Webster woman airlifted after Hwy. 70 accident on Wednesday, July 5, 2017
On Wednesday afternoon, Annette J. Leighow, a 75-year-old Webster woman was airlifted to a Minnesota hospital after a rear-end collision on Hwy. 70.
The Burnett County Sheriff’s Department’s accident report states that Leighow was a passenger of a vehicle driven by Laurie A. Reed, 49, Webster. The vehicle was rear-ended at full speed on the highway by an SUV driven by Victoria A. Tyndall, 19, Webster.
The report reads that Tyndall and Reed were transported by ground ambulance to a Spooner medical center for treatment. It is reported that Reed endured serious injuries and Tyndall minor. Also in the SUV was a 15-year-old passenger who was not seriously injured.
Law enforcement issued Tyndall a citation for following too closely.
The report states Reed stopped to make a left turn when her vehicle was hit from behind. The report also states Tyndall was watching a tailgating vehicle in a side mirror when her passenger called out as she saw the stopped vehicle ahead.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m., near the intersection of Hwy. 70 and Kruger Road in the Town of Meenon. This information was provided by the Burnett County Sheriff’s Dept.
