One person was killed and another person was hospitalized in a crash in western Rowan County Thursday morning, Highway Patrol says.
It happened on Sherrills Ford Road at Longbranch Road, blocking the roadway for a time.
Troopers say a car was headed west on Sherrills Ford Road when the driver ran off the road, overcorrected, crossed the center line and hit a truck carrying a flatbed trailer.
The driver of the car was killed. One other person went to the hospital.
No names have been released.
